Japan Disaster Aid

As everyone will be aware, a major earthquake (magnitude 9.0) and tsunami hit north Japan on 11 March 2011 (now referred to as the ‘Tohoku Kanto earthquake’ or 2011 Sendai earthquake and tsunami –  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Sendai_earthquake_and_tsunami).

This was the strongest earthquake and most devastating tsunami in Japanese history that caused mega destruction, fatality and fear amongst the Japanese people. Some 28,000 people are dead or missing. Sixteen towns, 95,000 buildings and 23 railway stations have been destroyed. In addition to this, people now face radiation fears from the explosions at the Fukushima nuclear power station.
